Come December....
Yes...Finally booked a holiday trip at the Chan Brothers Fair today @ Suntec City..Will spend 8 days in Taiwan from 16 - 23 Dec.....Below is the activities for my tour (taken off from chan brothers webbie)......DAY 1 SINGAPORE - TAIPEI (Meals on Board)Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Taipei. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to visit Shihlin Night Market, the largest night market in Taipei where you can indulge in a huge variety of local snacks.
DAY 2 TAIPEI - HUALIEN (Breakfast/Dinner)This morning, visit Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, which boasts traditional Chinese architectural features in majestic splendour. Continue to Chiufen, the filming site of the film, 慡ad City?and stop by a small, prosperous village with many shops selling famous local dishes and snacks. Thereafter, embark on a scenic rail journey, which travels along the East Coast Highway to Hualien.
DAY 3 HUALIEN - TAITUNG (Breakfast/Lunch/Seafood Dinner)Visit Taroko Gorge this morning to admire the marvellous geological features in Swallow Caves, Nine Turn Grotto and Tien Hsiang. Then, enjoy a scenic drive along the East Coast Highway to Taitung. Stop at the Caves of the Eight Immortals, which has archaeological evidence from the Palaeolithic period. Continue to the Terrace of the Three Immortals, known as Sanshiantai, to view nature work in sea-eroded potholes and caves, and rare coastal vegetation. Tonight, you will stay overnight in a well-known hot spring hotel, and discover the therapeutic remedies of natural spring water by soaking in its indoor and outdoor pools. You will also experience a sumptuous seafood dinner, where you can savour local seasonal delicacies.
DAY 4 TAITUNG - KAOHSIUNG (Breakfast/Lunch)After breakfast, head to Meinong Hakka Village, the hometown of paper umbrellas and Hakka culture. Explore this town, which is steeped in Hakka history and culture, and view many charming traditional houses. Proceed to Fokuangshan, the Light of Buddha Mountain. Here, you will see a 120-metre golden Buddha Amitabha statue with 480 standing Buddha statues, surrounded by flowing water and lush foliage. Move on to the Spring and Autumn Pavilions, which have two gigantic dragon and tiger statues, before stopping at the Pearl Culture Centre. This evening, visit the Liuho Night Market.
DAY 5 KAOHSIUNG - ALISHAN - TAICHUNG (Breakfast/Lunch/Five Cent Driftwood Dinner)After a brief Kaohsiung city tour in the morning, proceed to Alishan for another close encounter with nature. The Alishan Forest Recreation Area is located 3,000 metres above sea level, boasting cool weather that supports a unique ecosystem and scenic beauty. Take a leisurely stroll around the Alishan Forest Recreation Area to enjoy enchanting natural sights, such as Sisters Pond, the Alishan Sacred Tree, the Three Generations Trees and Shouzhen Temple, among others. Then, continue your journey to Taichung and enjoy dinner at Five Cent Driftwood Restaurant. Thereafter, visit Feng Jia Night Market to savour various snacks.
DAY 6 TAICHUNG - TAIPEI (Breakfast/Hai Pa Wang Taiwanese Cuisines Dinner)Proceed to Miaoli Zhuolan, Taiwan fruits harvesting area to visit Taisan Leisure Farm, where you can pick, eat and buy the array of luscious fruits at the farm. Visit the Leofoo Village Theme Park and Zoo. You may have lunch at your own expense in the monkey enclosure with more than 100 gorillas, gibbons, and other rare primates of almost 30 species. Back in Taipei, head to the Martyrs Shrine to observe the changing of guards procession ceremony, then to Princess Mao Lingzhi Specialty Store. In the evening, you will visit Ximenting to shop for the trendiest buys
DAY 7 TAIPEI (Breakfast/Shabu Shabu Lunch/Tamshui River Western Set Dinner)This morning, visit the National Palace Museum, which houses the world largest collection of ancient Chinese treasures, before heading to Lucky Charm Centre. After a hearty shabu shabu lunch, go to Taipei 101 Shopping Mall for some shopping. Thereafter, proceed to Tamshui to visit the historic Tamshui Old Street, famous for its Iron-eggs and well-preserved buildings. At dusk, you can take a leisure stroll along Fisherman Wharf, the filming site of the popular TV drama serial, Meteor Garden and admire the beautiful sunset on Tamjiang, acclaimed as one of Taiwan eight resplendent scenic attractions. After dinner, visit the Miramar Entertainment Park, where you may take a ride in Asia largest Ferris wheel at your own expense to view the beautiful night scene of Taipei.
DAY 8 TAIPEI - SINGAPORE (Breakfast/Meals on Board)If time permits, you can do some last-minute shopping before you transfer to the airport for your flight home.Looking foward to it.......What a long wait to a holiday trip.....Gonna apply 5 days of leave in Dec when I reached office tomorrow...
